What you are applying for
Qatar gives Pakistani passport holders two ways in for a visit. You can get an entry visa on arrival at Hamad International Airport, but only if you have booked your hotel through Discover Qatar's approved list before travelling. Or you can apply in advance on Hayya, Qatar's e-visa platform: A1 for most Pakistani tourists, A2 if you live in another Gulf country, and A3 if you hold a visa or residence permit from the Schengen area, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
The hotel booking is the hinge. Qatar's Ministry of Interior requires Pakistani, Indian, Thai and Iranian passport holders to book through Discover Qatar for a visa on arrival, and a Hayya application waits on accommodation checks before it is approved. Without a confirmed booking and a return ticket, neither route works.
Most refusals come down to one of four
- 01A Discover Qatar booking
- 02A return ticket
- 03Passport validity
- 04A qualifying permit
