How to apply, and how long it takes

In the order it happens. Each stage waits on the one before it, so the date you start decides the date you finish. Ranges, not promises — the mission owns the clock.

  1. 15–30 minutes

    Apply on the official site

    Apply at evisa.gov.az, the ASAN visa system run by Azerbaijan's State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations. Apply at least three working days before you travel, or use the urgent service.

  2. Enter every detail exactly

    Names, passport number and dates must match your passport. Check the travel dates before you pay.

  3. Within 3 working days

    Receive and print the e-visa

    The e-visa arrives by email. Print it and carry it with your passport.

  4. At the border

    Carry your hotel booking and return ticket. The border officer decides whether you enter.

  5. Within 15 days

    Register if you stay over 15 days

    If you stay more than 15 days, register your place of stay within 15 days of arrival — online through the State Migration Service, at a migration office or at an ASAN service centre. It is free, and missing the deadline is an offence.

  6. Leave on time

    Unpaid fines for breaking the rules of stay block future entry until they are paid, and breaking the declared purpose of a visit brings a five-year ban.
